Supporting Mental Health Awareness and Research: SCLA at the Houston NAMI Walk

This past Saturday, May 16th, the SCLA Management Houston team proudly attended the Houston NAMI Walk in support of mental health awareness, advocacy, and continued progress in mental health research.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) brought together individuals, families, advocates, healthcare professionals, and organizations that share a commitment to supporting those affected by mental health conditions and continuing the conversation surrounding mental health care and resources.

Mental health conditions continue to deeply impact children, adolescents, and families across the United States, making events like the NAMI Walk especially meaningful for increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and connecting communities with support systems and educational resources.

As part of SCLA’s ongoing commitment to advancing clinical research, our Houston team attended the event not only to support NAMI’s mission, but also to help raise awareness about clinical trial opportunities currently available for pediatric and adolescent patients in the mental health space.

Through continued research and community involvement, we hope to help families become more aware of the potential options and resources available to them while supporting the development of future therapies in this field.

The impact mental illness has on younger populations is something our investigators and research teams remain deeply committed to addressing. Participating in events like the Houston NAMI Walk allows us to stay connected with the communities we serve while continuing to support awareness, advocacy, and innovation in mental health research.

We are grateful to NAMI Houston for organizing such a meaningful event and thank everyone who stopped by to connect with our team throughout the day.

At SCLA, we remain committed to supporting research that helps move healthcare forward  one conversation, one patient, and one community at a time.
